The family of filters IFMC - Ex is designed to treat potentially explosive dusts in agreement with Atex harmonized standards ( UNI EN 13463-1 , UNI EN 1127-1).
The cylindrical body, made by using sheet steel of great thickness, gives the filter the necessary resistance to the residual pressure of a possible explosion generated in its volume. The filter unit is protected by a venting system (NFPA 68, UNI EN 14491) or by a chemical suppression system, designed and installed according to the characteristics of powders and of the place in which the machine is installed. Such devices, when used synergistically with the other required isolation systems, have the purpose to avoid the filter deflagration and the explosion propagation through the pipes connected to it, also allowing reuse of the filter. The filter, according to the dust and the process type, can be equipped with internal fire extinguishing system, managed by temperature sensors appropriately located and with sparks extinguishing system. Dust discharge is made by a rotary valve that must be flame proof and explosion proof.
